On Wednesday, police arraigned two men before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on charges of unlawfully possessing a stolen motorcycle.

The defendants are: Saliu Suara, 58; and Oluwasegun Adeyemi, 24.

The defendants, whose addresses were not provided, are facing two charges: conspiracy and unlawful possession of a stolen motorcycle.

Both defendants pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor ASP Olagoke Adegbenro said the offences occurred on October 31 at about 9:00 a.m. in the Iyana-Church area of Ibadan.

Adegbenro further alleged that the defendants were found with one unregistered TVS motorcycle and four motorcycle side mirrors, which were reasonably suspected to be stolen.

He added that the defendants could not provide proof of ownership for the motorcycle, thereby violating sections 430 and 516 of the Criminal Law of Oyo State, 2000.

Magistrate Mrs Olasinmibo Sanusi granted each defendant bail in the amount of N100,000, with two sureties each in the same amount.
