DBLO Construction Nigeria Limited has announced vacancies for the posts of Site Manager and Site Engineer in their construction
projects in Abuja.

DBLO is a growing, friendly construction company offering competitive remuneration and opportunities for working on a wide range of projects,experience and career progression. have successfully executed some world-class designed and built projects. It is presently located in Abuja with the intention of spreading our operations across the length and breadth of Nigeria. It is affiliated to DBLO Associates Architects UK, its mother company based in London.

The major duties, responsibilities and qualification requirements are stated below:

  1. SITE MANAGER
    Accountability
    Accountable to the Project Manager.
    1.1. Manage the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of sub-ordinates
    Major Duties and Responsibilities:
     Production Development Schedules to meet POW issued by the Project Manager
    following Schedule Management Plan; resources planning, direction and duty assignation,
    staff, subcontractors and suppliers’ coordination, overtime schedule and authorization,
    and so on to meet the agreed timescales. (Schedule and Procurement Procedure)
    KPI – schedule adherence: 1 – (Production Activity Time/Time expected)
     Monitor daily productivity and progress against POW and Development Schedules.
     Assistance with the procurement process: timely tender documents preparation following
    Procurement Management Plan and Procurement Statement of Work, timely organization
    and action of the different required, timely preparation of the award documents, purchase
    orders or CVI, preparation of the materials reception documents (Procurement Procedure)
    KPI – processing time saving: 1 – (Final time / Time allocated)
     Human resources recruitment: Hires and trains employees on production functions
    following Procurement Management Plan and Procurement Statement of Work regarding
    human resources (Procurement Procedure)
     Quality supervision of on-site team, materials and component reception according to
    agreed specifications, inventory control, production compliance with the design
    specification, regulations and good practices, implementation of snagging system (Quality
    Procedure)
    KPI – quality assurance – Number of defects, rework or quality complains
     Site Cost Control: Budgeting and project costs management without compromising in
    quality (Cost Control Procedure)
    KPI – percentage reduction on allocated expenditure: 1 – (Final Cost/ Budget)

 Health and safety management: compliance, inspections, daily toolbox and addressing
any safety concerns or incidents arising.
KPI – Safety performance: Number of accidents, incidents, near-misses or raised
concerns
 Site meetings and visits coordination.
 Coordinates with the Design Manager to gain full understanding of the detailed design and
specification, develop of processes, tooling and moulds necessary to produce new
products, advance any buildability issues and implement any engineering change notice
as appropriate.
 Provides Progress Reports and regular communication with the project team.
KPI – Key team players evaluation
 Manages site information ensures up to date information is issued to site team and used
to build, records and manages RFI (liaise with Design Manager), issues confirmation of
instruction (CVI), Change Requests and records any issue into the Issue Log.
 Risk or issue monitoring and mitigation: production problems trouble shooting; assurance
that machinery, equipment, materials and facilities are properly maintained and ready
when needed for efficiency; report ahead any process or equipment problems to the
Project Manager
KPI – management delays percentage: 1 – (management delays/total delays)
 Develops knowledge of innovative construction techniques and solutions to enhance the
company.
 Provides site leadership

Requirements
 High National diploma or a degree in construction, civil engineering or structures
 10+ years of experience in construction and 5+ tears as a Site Manager:: planning,
directing and coordinating projects on site, monitoring sub-contractors, supervising each
construction phase, carrying out H&S assessments, managing expectations and reporting
to the Team and Clients.
 Registration with Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN).
 Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Power Point) and CAD. Knowledge of Revit
or any software in scheduling and cost control is an advantage
 Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills (clear and concise reports).
 Excellent organisational skills.
 Proven trouble shooting skills.
 Ability to manage and motivate workforce at all levels.
 Attention to details
 Ability to work efficiently as part of a team.

2. SITE ENGINEER
Accountability
Accountable to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
1.1 Manage the Key Performance Areas (KPA) of sub-ordinates

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
 Managing programme of works, design information, contract requirements and
implementing them.
 Organising task launching at different stages of construction.
 Decide (in consultation with superiors and sub-ordinates) and inform sub-ordinates of
the sequence and method of work.
 Regularly review required human and material resources at different stages of
construction, obtain superiors’ approval and communicate this to sub-ordinates.
 Ensure that design details, sketches and materials and tools are available to sub-
ordinates timely.
 After obtaining a mandate from the Site Manager or Project Manager, negotiate
acceptable terms with sub-ordinates in terms of cost, availability when required, etc
and advise sub-ordinates.
 Scrutinise the drawings and specifications in order to identify in advance any potential
problem areas and take the necessary action to avoid them.
 Regularly maintain a logbook of construction processes.
 Presenting construction progress reports at Site Progress Meetings.

Requirements
