Dr Ominimini Obiuwevbi, an astute political player in both national politics of Nigeria and that of Delta State has been urged by a cross-section of leaders in the Delta-Central Senatorial District of Delta State to take a shot at the Nigerian Senate given his high political pedigree and massive acceptance among the people of Delta-Central Senatorial District and generally across the state and beyond.

During a courtesy visit by Chief (Sir) Thomas Oduaran, who led a delegation of eminent persons and leaders of interest groups to  Dr Ominimini’s country home in Ughelli, the All Progressives Congress stalwart was called upon to give his consent and approval to the group’s demand that he should contest the 2023 Delta Central senatorial seat.

According to Chief Oduaran the group based their call on Dr Ominimini to contest for the senatorial seat of Delta-Central based on his antecedents in governance and other leadership roles, which have endeared him a lot to the people of the area.

Dr Ominimini, who was overwhelmed by the visit, judging by the calibre of persons on the delegation, has considered and accepted the honour to be called by his people for service.
