Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has finally declared his intention to contest for the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the coming 2023 General Elections.

The Vice President made the declaration in a worldwide videocast in the early hours of Monday, 11th April 2022. His declaration comes as a surprise to many who had given up on the expectation that despite being the closest person to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, he lacked the courage to make such intention known when his supposed political godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is also gunning for the same position.

Osinbajo cited the reasons why he had to join the race for Nigeria’s most important job including the vast experience he has gathered in the last seven years which took him to all the local government areas of Nigeria and the times he personally spent with Nigerians in every estate of life.
