The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Lagos State reports that 116,745 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) for newly registered voters remain uncollected.
Tadese stated that the commission received 177,295 PVCs for eligible residents registered during Phase One of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in 2025.
She noted that as of Monday, the commission’s weekly update showed 60,550 PVCs had been collected, with 116,745 still awaiting collection.
She emphasised that these uncollected cards represent a significant number of eligible voters who need to collect their PVCs to participate in the 2027 general elections.
She confirmed that the cards are available for collection at INEC’s local government offices across the state.
“The cards are available for collection by their owners, not by proxy, at the various local government offices of the commission in Lagos,” she said.
Tadese urged stakeholders to encourage both previous registrants and those from the 2025 CVR exercise who have not collected their cards to do so.
She said the cards were still lying at INEC offices and urged owners to collect them before the collection window closed ahead of the forthcoming elections.
The INEC official added that PVCs for eligible residents who registered during the 2026 CVR exercise will soon be ready for collection.
Tadese also urged eligible voters to maintain order during PVC collection.
She reaffirShe reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to conducting free, fair, and credible elections acceptable to all stakeholders in the state. The administrative secretary also called for peaceful and orderly campaigns, urging all stakeholders to abide by the rules guiding the electoral process.
She appealed to political actors and stakeholders to adhere to the rules to ensure a peaceful electoral environment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
