The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has launched a Digital Education Quality Assurance Platform to enhance the monitoring, inspection, and evaluation of public and private schools in the state.
The ministry’s spokesperson, Mrs Bisi Lawani, announced this in a statement on Friday in Akure.
The ministry stated that the Department of Inspectorate and Quality Assurance developed the initiative in partnership with Quickens Computer Limited, aligning with global best practices to improve education delivery.
The digital platform includes a real-time dashboard that provides stakeholders with access to reports on school status and performance. The ministry explained that the platform supports routine and whole-school evaluations, school inspections, and case management, promoting efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the education sector.
“Pilot testing began at Oyemekun Grammar School, Akure, with Zonal and Area Education Officers from Akure South, Akure North, Ifedore, and Idanre Local Government Areas participating.
“The exercise started with a training session for field officers on effective platform use, followed by practical sessions where teams assessed assigned schools and tested the system,” it stated.
The ministry said it held a feedback session at the end of the field exercise to review observations and identify improvements before the platform’s full rollout. The exercise will be extended across Ondo State’s three senatorial districts to ensure all field officers are adequately trained and equipped to use the platform effectively.
“This initiative represents a significant step in leveraging digital technology to enhance education monitoring, strengthen institutional accountability, and improve standards in schools across Ondo State,” it added.
