Gov. Dikko Radda of Katsina State urged Kankara Local Government Area residents to support his and President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027, emphasising merit.
Gov. Radda made this appeal at the Tinubu/Dikko campaign rally on Wednesday in Kankara, highlighting Federal and State Government achievements.
Radda stated his administration approved retirement benefits for 14,560 beneficiaries across all 34 local government areas and education authorities, aiming to reduce inherited pension and death-benefit liabilities.
He noted that Kankara benefited from various projects under his administration, such as palliative support, farmer assistance, youth empowerment, school improvements, and healthcare facility development.
He emphasised that these achievements are tangible and that residents can assess their impact independently.
Gov. Dikko thanked Kankara residents for their large turnout, viewing it as a sign of confidence in the APC-led administration. He assured residents that, if re-elected, his administration would continue its developmental initiatives. The Governor cautioned against politicians who neglect their communities and return only during election campaigns to seek votes. He encouraged residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and support the APC at all levels in the 2027 general elections. In his role as Director-General of the Tinubu-Dikko Campaign Council, Ahmed Dangiwa commended Kankara for its ongoing support for progressive leadership. He urged residents to translate their enthusiasm into votes at every polling unit. The Governor, who paid courtesy visits to traditional and religious leaders in Kankara, sought their support and prayers for a hitch-free election.
The District Head of Kankara, Alhaji Adamu Bello, commended efforts to restore peace and stability, especially in resolving conflicts between farmers and nomads, and also praised the ongoing renovation of Kankara General Hospital and a school project in Mabai, while appealing for the project to be implemented without delay.
Bello appealed for improved school security and continued construction of major and feeder roads to connect farming communities with markets. Chairman of Kankara Local Government, Alhaji Kasimu Dantsoho Katoge, described the Governor’s visit as an opportunity to strengthen ties between the government and residents.
